"Penguin in space" is earned by wearing no body, like a thrash bin or a space shuttle.The "Hit total of 400 obstacles" bugs for me too, showing 402/400 without unlocking that achievement.
Either the server was overloaded or your connection is really bad and got canceled at some point. I can't confirm this problem because its working for me.
